Rum Vanilla Cranberry Sauce


1 package (12 ounces) fresh cranberries, rinsed

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

1 teaspoon grated orange zest

1/2 cup orange juice

1/4 cup rum

1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract



In a large saucepan, gently stir all ingredients over medium heat. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 35 minutes. Remove from heat; cool.
