Pepper Tagliatelle Pasta with Lobster & Vanilla Cream Sauce

Ingredients:

For the lobster:

  • 2 lobster tails, cooked and meat removed from the shells
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

For the vanilla cream sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 shallot, finely chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise and seeds scraped out
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For the pepper tagliatelle pasta:

  • 8 ounces pepper tagliatelle pasta (or regular tagliatelle if preferred)
  • Salt for boiling water
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the lobster:

    • Cut the lobster meat into bite-sized pieces.
    • In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the lobster meat and sauté for 2-3 minutes until heated through. Season with salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Set aside.
  2. Make the vanilla cream sauce:

    • In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and chopped shallot, and sauté until softened and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
    • Pour in the heavy cream and add the scraped vanilla bean seeds. Stir well to combine.
    • Simmer the sauce gently over low heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly and is infused with the vanilla flavor. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Remove the vanilla bean before serving.
  3. Cook the pasta:

    • In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pepper tagliatelle pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain well.
  4. Combine pasta, lobster, and sauce:

    • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the vanilla cream sauce. Toss well to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.
    • Gently fold in the sautéed lobster pieces, making sure they are distributed throughout the pasta.
  5. Serve:

    • Divide the Pepper Tagliatelle Pasta with Lobster and Vanilla Cream Sauce among serving plates.
    • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
    • Serve immediately, and enjoy this decadent and flavorful pasta dish!
