Heart-shaped brownies

1 cup unsweetened cocoa

1 cup all purpose flour

5 oz semi-sweet chocolate morsels

1½ cups  granulated sugar

¾ cup unsalted butter at room temperature

3 eggs at room temperature

2 tbsp Villa Vainilla Pure Mexican Vanilla Extract or you can substitute with 2 Villa Vainilla Mexican vanilla beans

1 tsp salt

Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 inch pan.

In a microwave-safe container, combine the butter and 2 ounces of chocolate morsels. Melt in 30 second increments, whisking after each, until completely smooth. Whisk in the sugar until completely combined, then whisk in the eggs and vanilla extract.

Note: if you are using vanilla beans, cut them lengthwise to open and with the tip of a knife scrape the inside and add this scrape to the recipe!

Add the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and the other 3 ounces of chocolate morsels. Fold it all together with a spatula and spread evenly into greased pan.

Bake for 30 minutes or until a pick comes out clean. Remove from the oven and place on a wire rack to cool before cutting into hearts!
